The Da Vinci Code

Dan Brown’s massive blockbuster thriller is stripped of its cinematic CGI and adapted for the stage in this production at the Manatee Performing Arts Center. The narrative tracks symbologist Robert Langdon and cryptologist Sophie Neveu as they flee from French police and a murderous monk, solving a trail of anagrams and hidden messages left at a murder scene inside the Louvre. The play relies on rapid pacing, projection design, and stark lighting to replicate the frantic, international manhunt. The performance focuses on the intellectual puzzle and the controversial historical theories regarding the Holy Grail that made the original novel a global phenomenon.
