Murder, She Improvised

The mystery genre gets dismantled and rebuilt on the spot during this completely unscripted comedy performance. Operating out of Florida Studio Theatre, the ensemble cast relies on input from the audience to establish the victim, the weapon, and the hidden motives. From there, a designated detective attempts to solve the fabricated crime while the actors continually invent absurd alibis and new complications. Because the improvisers are generating the plot in real-time, the narrative logic frequently derails into chaotic physical comedy. The appeal lies in watching the performers think their way out of narrative corners and justify the increasingly ridiculous clues thrown at them by the crowd.
