National Theatre Live: Hamlet

Academy Award nominee Benedict Cumberbatch takes on the title role of Shakespeare's tragedy in this filmed stage production of National Theatre Live: Hamlet. Directed by Lyndsey Turner and captured live during its sold-out run at London's Barbican Centre, the staging places the Danish prince in a visually sweeping, atmospheric world on the brink of war. The cinema broadcast allows local audiences to see the acclaimed London performance, focusing on the political paranoia and espionage that drive the royal family's collapse.
