Ring in the Holidays

Sarasota Opera House The Pops Orchestra collaborates with Ring Sarasota, the region’s professional handbell ensemble, for a massive joint concert at the Sarasota Opera House. The combined forces create an unusual and texturally rich symphonic sound, merging the precision of the massed bronze bells with a full array of strings, winds, and brass. The program surveys classical holiday pieces and modern festive arrangements, utilizing the grand acoustics of the historic theater to handle the sheer volume and complex overtones generated by the orchestra and the striking visual choreography of the bell ringers.
