Sarasota County Farm and Ranch Tour: Learn Our Agricultural Roots

This guided agricultural tour led by the UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County takes participants directly onto working farms and cattle ranches in the eastern part of the county. The field trip moves beyond farmers markets to show the physical realities of modern food production and livestock management. Local producers discuss the environmental and economic hurdles of maintaining large-scale agriculture in a rapidly developing region. The outing provides a concrete understanding of where the region's food originates and how open ranchlands contribute to local water conservation and wildlife habitats.
