South Florida Women’s Basketball vs. ECU

East Carolina's jump under Kim McNeill was one of the American's biggest swings last season: the Pirates went 14–4 in league play, up from 8–10, and reached the conference tournament semifinals as the No. 2 seed. Kennedy Fauntleroy, a co-Defensive Player of the Year and the league's newcomer of the year, ranked among the national leaders in steals at 2.71 a game. ECU opens the year seventh in the preseason poll. On the South Florida side, Fatou Diakite, a 6-foot-3 forward from Ivory Coast who began her career at Charlotte, shot 54.1 percent from the field.
