South Florida Women’s Basketball vs. FAU

LeAnn Freeland came to Florida Atlantic from Division II Nova Southeastern, and her first Owls team won seven American games after winning three the year before, including an overtime win over Charlotte in the conference tournament opener. The preseason poll slots FAU eighth, with no Owl on the all-conference teams. South Florida's point guard knows the program from the inside: Stefanie Ingram, an Orlando native who played at Georgia and Florida Atlantic, is a fifth-year player now, and the league's coaches put her on the preseason first team.
