South Florida Women’s Basketball vs. Memphis

Hana Haden, named the Sun Belt's coach of the year after a 23–8 season at Georgia Southern and that program's first regular-season conference title in 25 years, takes over the Memphis women as the Tigers' 14th head coach. She inherits Daejah Richmond, who led the American in steals at 2.9 a game, and forward Tamya Smith, both on the preseason second team; the poll has the Tigers ninth after a 4–14 league season. South Florida hosts them with a rotation that includes Lee Teichman, a sophomore guard from Israel who played in 21 games last season.
