John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd suit up as two rhythm-and-blues-loving ex-convicts on a mission from God in The Blues Brothers. Directed by John Landis, the 1980 musical comedy follows Jake and Elwood Blues as they try to reunite their old rhythm section to save the Catholic orphanage where they were raised. Known for its massive car pile-ups and deadpan humor, the film doubles as a tribute to American soul music, featuring show-stopping performances by Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin and James Brown.
