The Thomas Crown Affair (1968)

Steve McQueen plays a bored, impeccably dressed millionaire who orchestrates a daring bank heist just for the thrill in The Thomas Crown Affair. The 1968 caper pits McQueen against Faye Dunaway, who plays an insurance investigator determined to trap him. Directed by Norman Jewison, the film relies heavily on split-screen techniques and a moody Michel Legrand score to build its tense, romantic cat-and-mouse game, moving from the boardrooms of Boston to high-stakes glider flights and polo matches.
