Blue Violin

Classical technique meets modern arena rock as Blue Violin brings his genre-defying solo act to the Manatee Performing Arts Center. Formerly a member of the Boston String Quartet, the crossover artist utilizes a custom electric instrument and loop pedals to build massive, multi-layered arrangements live on stage. The program spans from rearranged classical standards to high-decibel original compositions, emphasizing driving percussion and rapid-fire bow work. Bypassing the formality of a traditional symphony concert, the evening offers an aggressive, high-energy exploration of what a single string instrument can achieve when paired with contemporary production technology.
