Ella & The Bossa Beat

Brazilian jazz singer-pianist Ella Blu and her father, veteran drummer Magrus Borges, take the stage at Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center for an intimate club set. Borges, a Latin Grammy nominee known for touring work with Astrud Gilberto, Bebel Gilberto, and Grace Jones, anchors the rhythm section with intricate bossa nova grooves while Blu layers acoustic piano chords and English- and Portuguese-language vocals. The concert highlights selections from their collaborative catalog, notably the cross-genre arrangements first introduced on their album My Remedy.
