Pot O’ Gold (BOTY)

The St. Patrick’s Day-themed Pot O’ Gold Regatta brings the local sailing community out for a competitive race on Sarasota Bay. Hosted by the Sarasota Sailing Squadron, the event is a Boat of the Year (BOTY) qualifier, adding serious stakes to the holiday-adjacent gathering. PHRF and one-design classes maneuver around the marks, employing local knowledge to navigate the bay's spring tidal currents and wind shifts. The volunteer-run race committee manages the starts from the water, anchoring a weekend of tactical competition off the shores of City Island.
