Walter Parks and The Unlawful Assembly

The six-piece ensemble The Unlawful Assembly reimagines historic spirituals and hymns from the American South. Led by Walter Parks, the band infuses traditional vocal arrangements with swamp-blues guitar and driving percussion at the Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center, exploring the roots of musical expressions that were once used to empower and unite marginalized communities.
