Florida-Friendly Landscaping™: Planting Trees for the Suncoast

Florida-Friendly Landscaping is an Extension program, and this session of it is held at the Extension's own office. At UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County in Twin Lakes Park, the class devotes its hour to trees, with guidance on Suncoast-appropriate species, the ones to avoid, and the basics of choosing, planting and caring for a young tree. Native, flowering and edible fruit and nut varieties are all discussed. Every household receives a native tree to plant, and a spot is secured through an Eventbrite registration.
