City of Sarasota Amendment Transmittal Flaws

To: Longboat Key Commissioner BJ Bishop

Commissioner, please give me a call when you can.  I’m concerned that what appeared to be a LBK planner at the September 1 staff “Workshop” left there confused and supportive of what staff and their consultant are trying to do.

501 General Harris Foreclosure Status

To: Longboat Key Town Manager Howard Tipton

Quick update on the 501 General Harris foreclosure matter. The Plaintiff filed their notice of sale, so I am taking it as a sign that their newspaper advertisements will be timely. Sale is still set for September 24th. I calendared the sale date, and I will continue to monitor and update you all as needed.

Dredging Longboat Pass

To: Longboat Key Commission

Manatee County will be dredging Longboat Pass as part of their Hurricane Idalia Storm Damage Repair Project.  What can be expected is the same type of dredging activity the Town experienced when we dredged the pass, to successfully complete our Gulfside Road Segment nourishment project in 2024-2025.  The Dredge should arrive in the pass and work is anticipated to start this week  The project should be complete within 90 days.
